Re: Temple of the VIne
Thu, February 23, 2006 - 12:03 AMI am unable to locate any information on "Temple of the Vine," or indeed any reference to it at all. Is there some place that people can get the low down on this before they start whooshing off their hard-earned money to a random, unknown email address? -

In mid-December, incorporation documents for the Temple of the Vine were filed with the state of Oregon and tax exempt, religious organization documents were filed with the IRS.
By the end of December, the Temple was all officially recognized
.
The main goal of the Temple of the Vine is to provide a religious entity for people who want to shamanically use plant teachers for spiritual growth, but who do not want to be involved with the overt Christian religious energy inherent in Daime, the UDV, or even the Native American Church.
The Temple is really still in the beginning stages of this whole thing, and the philosophy and mission of the Temple is still evolving.
Somewhere down the line, a shamanic ceremonial center and retreat location will be established to provide a place of grounding for the movement and it's members.
Stay tuned for more developments. -

Thanks the gods. It's about time to see that someone is using these things outside of the context of christian brainwashing. -

Sun, May 28, 2006 - 2:34 AMI'd like to belong to a church that's registered in the US, not Peru....Preferably specifically pertaining to ritual use of or belief in Salvia Divinorum as a sacred entity. Anyone doing this already? -

Re: Temple of the VIne
Mon, May 29, 2006 - 1:43 PMthere is no church that i know of that works with salvia though thats a good idea. you should start one.
there is a pagan church of the vine in new mexico which is led by a member of the ayahuasca forum named xythos. good guy.
there web page is here.
www.padeva.com/Beliefs.html
its interesting that there is a pagan syncretic church combined with the vine.
the church route is a good way to go, becuase wee have a constitutional right in the USA at least for freedom of religion. but it doesnt automaticly protect your to havea church as we have seen in the NAC cases the peyote way church of god had real trouble and the UDV had o go to the supreme court. the money involved in court cases like this is amazing. if you start a church it would be wise to contact glen biore and get the low down on things. see what you can do to protect your right and prepair for legal confrontations.
